Tights school part 4

A guide to pick the perfect pair..

There is a whole ton of different brands of hosiery on the market, maybe you have found a favorite already and sticking to it, but many women are still out there searching for the perfect pair.

Here’s my advise on what to look for when buying pantyhose.

Composition, always check the composition. The higher percentage elastane, the more stretch you get in the product and therefore also a better fit.

Seams, you’d want a pantyhose with flat seams. There are either flat seams or round seams and the flat seems are not only stronger but are more comfortable against your body and will be less noticeable underneath your clothes.

Waist, the wider the waist the better comfort. A thin waist lining is more lightly to roll down and create a rubber band effect right around your mid part. I’d say you’d want a waist that is at least 1,6 – 2 inches wide. (About 4-5 cm)

Gusset/crotch, I prefer a pantyhose with a gusset, the extra piece of fabric in the crotch of the pantyhose. It’s a plus for comfort and the life span of your pantyhose. A gusset in cotton also gives you the option to wear your pantyhose sans underwear.

Toe reinforcement, some pantyhose have toe reinforcement, especially thinner pantyhose that tend to break easier, and if it’s invisible it’s even better, since open toe shoes won’t be a problem.

So if you keep this in mind next time you go shopping for pantyhose, I’m sure you’ll find a great pair, with most bang for your buck!

Good luck ladies! /Anna
